Get to Know Your Counselors
Brianna Lawrence, 7-12 Counselor (Last Names: A-L)
Hello Bluejays! I'm Mrs. Lawrence. The band kids call me "B-Law"! I was born and raised in Eagan, Minnesota and went to Eagan High School where I participated in many types of activities. I loved participating in theater, choir, MHS, Spanish club and more! After high school, I went to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where I received a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Spanish. While working for two years in the field of College Admissions Counseling, I realized that the best part of my job was getting to know and support kids in the school environment! In 2020, I was luckily able to get into one of the best programs in the Midwest at Minnesota State University- Mankato for my Masters in Professional School Counseling. I've been a School Counselor for the Waseca Bluejays ever since. Outside of school, you can catch me walking my dog (Minnie), singing/playing guitar at church, spending time with my husband (Waseca High school's band director - Mr. Lawrence), and cheering on the Waseca Marching Jays!

Paul Marlin, 7-12 Counselor (Last Names: M-Z)
I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2010 with a degree in Psychology and the University of Wisconsin Superior with a master's degree in School Guidance Counseling in 2013. I have been a school counselor ever since then. I began my career as a school counselor in Iowa for 7 years and then I moved back to Minnesota to become a school counselor here at Waseca Jr/Sr High School. My role as a school counselor is to help support students at the Jr/Sr High with academic struggles and planning, personal/social concerns, and college/career planning. I also coach junior high boys/girls tennis. On a personal note, I am married and a proud father of 2 girls. I definitely have a nerdy side to me. I love board games, video games, movies, music, sports, and above all spending time with family. I have a huge passion for helping students and enjoy getting to know people, so please don’t hesitate to say hi to me in the hall or let me know if there is something that I can help you with.
