MEP Teaching Fellows

Minnesota Educators Partnership (MEP) TEACHING FELLOWS

The MEP Teaching Fellows is a “grow your own” program funded by a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education. This program is intended to help people who are of color or who are American Indian earn their Minnesota teaching license.

Please complete an application if you're interested and meet the criteria below!

The MEP Teaching Fellows program is open to applicants who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) attending or planning to attend a Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board-approved (PELSB-approved) teacher preparation program.

Applicants must meet at least one of these criteria:

  • Have graduated from one of the MEP school districts (Faribault, Le Sueur-Henderson, Mankato, Owatonna, Tri-City United, Waseca)

  • Be a parent of a current MEP school district student

  • Live within the MEP school district boundaries; and/or

  • Be a current MEP school district employee

Teaching Fellows receive:

  • A $10,000 stipend per year for tuition support or other living or college expenses

  • One-on-one advising support throughout the program

  • Connection with a mentor teacher
