The ExCEL Award – Excellence in Community, Education, and Leadership – is a prestigious recognition given to outstanding Minnesota high school juniors who demonstrate strong leadership, commitment to school activities, and dedication to community service. Each year, Waseca High School selects two students to advance to the state competition. This year’s honorees are Corrick Medina and Paige Dufault.
Corrick Medina, son of Justin and Chantel Medina, is known for his genuine care for others and leadership in faith-based groups at school. His recommender, Mr. Jacobson, highlighted Corrick’s willingness to help others, his role as a drummer at his church, and his ability to connect with people in a meaningful way.
Paige Dufault, daughter of Jared and Stacy Dufault, is a dedicated leader both in and out of the classroom. Mrs. Nelson, in her recommendation, praised Paige’s strong work ethic, leadership in student council, and her success as a first-year BPA member, where she qualified for the state competition. Her positive attitude and ability to serve as a role model make her a deserving recipient of this award.
Both Corrick and Paige exemplify the values of the ExCEL Award, and we are proud to have them represent Waseca High School at the state level. Congratulations!
