The Waseca Bluejays Boys Hockey team made history this season, securing a program-best 21 wins, finishing second in the Big South Conference, and advancing to the Section Semifinals for the first time in school history. Their impressive performance on the ice has been recognized, with six players earning Big South Conference All-Conference honors.
All-Conference Selections
Three Bluejays were named to the Big South Conference Boys Hockey All-Conference Team for their outstanding performances:
Sophomore Griffin Storey – Tallied 19 goals and 50 assists for an impressive 69 points in 26 games.
Senior Hunter Anderson – Recorded 22 goals and 37 assists (59 points), including four power-play goals.
Sophomore Otto Schoenrock – Led the team in goals with 31, adding 25 assists for a total of 56 points.
All-Conference Honorable Mentions
Three additional Bluejays earned All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition:
Junior Jude Gehring – Scored 26 goals and 22 assists for 48 points.
Senior Lucas Groll – Contributed 8 goals and 24 assists (32 points) while playing a key role on the blue line.
Senior Carter Martens – Posted an 11-1-1 record, boasting a 1.24 goals-against average (GAA) and a .932 save percentage, along with five shutouts.
A Season to Remember
This season was a landmark achievement for the Waseca Boys Hockey program. The team’s 21-win season is the most in school history, and their second-place finish in the Big South Conference is a testament to the talent and dedication of both players and coaches. By advancing to the Section Semifinals for the first time ever, the Bluejays have set a new standard for future seasons.
